ADECRO was established on July 27, 1997. It is a Ch'orti' organization made up of residents of the village of El Rodeo and its hamlets El Cementerio, Rodeo Centro, Santiago, Nueva Esperanza, and Socotoco, in the municipality of Camotán Chiquimula. It was formed with the goal of improving the livelihoods of the communities and protecting and conserving 54 hectares of communal forest.
