Utz Che' seeks to consolidate itself from its grassroots and as a network, by strengthening and empowering its members in leadership training and political advocacy processes, in defense of their own forms of governance of their territories, before the State of Guatemala and its various policies and regulations, in order to restore the community's social structure and manage institutional sustainability.
Through this area, Utz Che demonstrates a solid and ongoing commitment to promoting and protecting the economic, social, cultural, and environmental rights of communities, positioning itself as a key player in defending the interests of communities, influencing the formulation and reform of public forestry, agricultural, environmental, and land legislation.
Strengthen the collective and responsible management capacities of natural resources within grassroots community organizations, and encourage Guatemalan government institutions to recognize and include in their policies and regulations the traditional forms of collective and community use and management based on ancestral principles that conserve forests, water, and land.
Promote economic viability and the well-being of rural communities through various economic initiatives; these actions seek to improve their quality of life, strengthening their resilience and contributing to sustainable development.
