Asociación de Comités de Producción Comunitaria-ACPC-

Located in the village of Xesiguán in the municipality of Rabinal, Baja Verapaz, in Guatemala's dry corridor, the organization was formed in 2003 and is made up of communities from the Achí Maya people, representing 450 families.

Its vision is to promote intercultural community development in the southern micro-basin of the municipality of Rabinal, B.V., through good agroecological practices, promoting food security and sovereignty, for adaptation and mitigation to climate change, based on the recovery of water recharge.

Its mission is to support families in their agroecological transition by replacing the use of agrochemicals with biological inputs, improving access to and use of water, and diversifying production systems, while integrating ancestral Mayan knowledge and scientific innovation with the aim of establishing measurable results that benefit the environment, the economy, and community well-being.

The association is dedicated to community agroecological production in order to respond more effectively to the risks associated with climate change, particularly recurrent drought, soil degradation, and food insecurity affecting member communities, whose livelihoods and economies are based primarily on family farming and coffee production under agroforestry systems.

As a member of the national network of bio-input producers and its board of directors, the ACPC is a regional leader in bio-input processes and contributes to their recognition by public authorities and their adoption by local producers.

Además, ACPC se caracteriza por una participación inclusiva y, desde sus inicios, cuenta con un consejo de mujeres y una comisión de jóvenes integrados en la toma de decisiones y la gestión administrativa y técnica de la asociación.
