ECA La Bendici\u00f3n is composed of families internally displaced by the armed conflict. The community was established in 2000 when it acquired the Oscuros Guatalones farm, covering an area of 12.5 caballerias. Today, it consists of 52 families from the San Marcos and Todos Santos Cuchumatanes areas of Huehuetenango. They have implemented a mixed management system, with individual management of plots for the production of staple grains, grazing, and timber, while the forest area is managed collectively. The community organization includes committees for education, women, water, and forestry, as well as a board of directors responsible for overseeing the use, management, and governance of the land.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Within the community, there is a board of directors responsible for overseeing the governance of the territory, as well as a women\u2019s council that manages a community credit system, lodging services, food provision, vegetable and fish fry production, and training opportunities for women.
